Umbrella Insurance

What is an Umbrella Insurance Policy?

Umbrella Insurance offers an "inexpensive" way to protect MORE areas of you and your family's lives than what is covered in your basic Homeowners and Auto policies.  This is used in conjunction with "Home Owners Insurance" & "Auto Insurance".

Umbrella Insurance are different names for the same type of insurance coverage.

Like a REAL umbrella, this coverage is OVER your basic coverage and is a LOW COST way to raise your coverage limits to pay for injuries to others or damage to their property for which you are legally responsible.

This insurance expands your coverage in two ways. 1) Provides a higher dollar coverage amount for claims against you. 2) Provides coverage for exposures that are not covered under your basic policies, such as slander, defamation of character, invasion of privacy and damages caused by your use of non-owned property while it is in your care.

How much do you need?

Umbrella Insurance policies are typically available in amounts of $1 million and up and can usually be purchased for less than $1,000 per year. The amount of coverage that you need depends on your lifestyle and public profile.

The higher your standard of living, the more you have to lose and the greater your risks.
